FM Bird Fund
F. M. Bird Fund: Facilitating Faculty Connections between Emory and St. Andrews University, Scotland
Emory University has broad-based affiliations with St. Andrews University, Scotland. As part of this connection, allocations by ICIS from the F. M. Bird Fund can be used to support initiatives that stimulate intellectual growth and development between faculty at St. Andrews and Emory. Interested faculty are invited to submit a preliminary statement of interest that describes a proposed activity or initiative, intended research result, and potential for ongoing research or other collaboration between faculty at Emory and St. Andrews University.
A range of possibilities may be proposed, for instance:
- Organize a conference or workshop that brings together Emory and St. Andrews faculty
- Invite faculty speaker/s from St. Andrews
- Establish on-going relations of collaborative research or publication with St. Andrews faculty
- Seed funding for longer-term institutional connections
- Semester of teaching at St. Andrews
Note: the Bird Fund does not support student travel or student exchanges.
